In "Some Houstonians 'calling in gay" Boycott is over California's gay marriage law. I think what matters to the gays is that love is somthing valuable and somthing to comit to and their rights. Gays are tired of being treated like they are not citizens of the u.s. I believe any one has the right to show there love for someone else. People need to let people love however or whoever they want, its not your choice to decide who people are going to love. This effects others because many people are gay in the u.s.

In "Early Morning Fire Guts Aurora Home" by Kieran Nicholson, what matters is that everyone is safe and no one is injured or dead. There was a fire in Aurora early in the morning, which fled five people from their home, but no one was hurt. The fire moved all the way, to there neighbor storage shed. There might have been a lot of damage done, but all the family cares about is being safe with no injury’s to take care of. This relates to others because a fire can take places any where and at any time.

In the Rocky Mountain News Five Algerians have been held in Guantanamo bay for seven years after the Bosnian Government requested that the US arrest them after they were found plotting to plant a bomb in the US embassy in October 2001. They served a sort sentence and were released a year later. Then six months later they were picked up in Afghanistan on their way to fight US forces. This relates to others because many people want US prisoners released and a study shows that most of them go back and fight the US. I think what matters to the two criminals is revenge against the u.s. because they kept them in prison for several years.

PLN 13 "Motorcycle crash!" kalvinp.

In Colorado Springs 23-year old Charles Galloway was riding with his friend 22-year Michael Stansberry. Charles lost control of his vehicle and hit a curb. He was transported to a hospital right away, but sadly he died shortly after that day. Authorities said no use of drugs or alcohol were used at the time. Luckily Michael Stansberry was not hurt. This topic relates to me because my neighbors had a recent motorcycles accident, but un like this man they wre okay. This relates to the world because many motorcycle accidents take place each and every year.

Pln 12 "crash of 16 year old"

In "Three sisters in Loveland crash identified" from The Denver Post. What I think what matters to the sixteen year old girl is her life and the lives of the other kids in her car at the time.It talked about how a 16-year-old girl crashed into another car with her 10 and 11 year old sisters with her. The 16-year-old suffered from major head trauma and serious concussions. Luckily both her sisters lived but were injured aswell, their conditions are unavailable. The man she crashed into was not hurt. I think this relates to others because there are many young and careless divers out there and passengers could be injured aswell.:(

PLN 11 "Bond is back!"

In "Bond, gadgets, girls back on the big screen" by Mike Pearson i think what matters was that there is another James Bond movie out and that so many people look at Bond as a hero. Quantum of solace is the 22nd James Bond movie out, and this time Bond is looking for revenge against the people that killed his girlfriend in the last movie "Casino Royal". What matters is that James Bond is a movie that everyone can love because it is a great action expirience. This relates to the world because there are actual people who are secret agents like james bond. I love James Bond Movies and i can't wait to see it in theaters.

In the YouTube video Dying Boy's Last Wish, what matters is survival and love and well his last wishes. A young boy was diagnosed with Leukemia and his doctor told him that he only had two weeks to live, But the one thing that made it different from other kids was that Brenden the young boy wanted to feed the homeless. He said, “ I was driving home from one of my clinics and I saw a big group of homeless people and I wanted to help them”. This matters to the world is that this is such a special boy because he wants to help others even though he is dying and this also matters to me aswell.

In “Spring mom accused of killing 3” I think what matters to the mom being accused is getting away with this and also getting the money from burning down her house to get insurance money (arson). Also I think what matters to the people is putting her in prison because she killed 3 kids doing it. I think this effects the world by realizing how dangerous fire is and this effects me because I find it sad that 3 innocent kids died in the fire she made.

I read an article, Rescued dogs to be put up for adoption, by Tillie Fong. What matters is to inform people with this article that dog cruelty is very bad and harmfull and is punishable by law. I love dogs and I think this relates to me because I also know and believe that dog and animal cruelty is horrible. This article could make a difference and I think it touches people like it did me. I know that this effects the world aswell as it did me because dogs are man's best friends and many people have dogs as pets. This is how this article by Tillie Fong can affect not just people in the u.s., but people all over the world in different ways.

In "Man Holds Hostage in Denver Apartment" byJoey Bunch and i think that what matters to the criminal is doing everything he can to not get arrested because he is going to extreme measures like taking hostages in an attemt to avoid the police. The suspect already stole a car and then he took a hostage because he doesn’t want to go to jail. The criminal has arrest warrants for several other car jackings, but the good news is he let all hostages except one go. I think his decisions are very stupid because no matter what he does he will get caught by the poepoe sooner or later and the longer he waits the more trouble he will get into. I thinks this relates to me because it’s one of almost everybodie’s fears to be held hostage and I think that is a very dangerous and fearful thing. This is what I think matters to the criminal.

In the article Ringo Starr: No more fan mail, there are many things that matter to Ringo such as his own privacy, relaxation, and no more fan mail. Privacy is important to him because Ringo is tired of people annoying him and he just wants to live his life, but because he is a Beatle it is probably hard to relax. Relaxation matters to him because he wants to relax and take a break from answering fans. Ringo doesn't want any more fan mail and he announced it to everyone, that he doesn't want anymore fan mail because he is tired of it. What can you expect he was the drummer for the band that started many genres of music and one of the most famous bands not just in america, but all over the world.

In David Warlick’s, “Chris’s Quotes” what matters to him is intervention. He thinks that in
the 20th century learning environment, teachers still are trying to teach us the way they did
before. The teachers will try everything they can to teach the students, but it just won’t work. I love the way that computers are being used in the school. They give students more access to a more understandable amount of information and gives us more knowledge then being taught the old way. I think that Chris is proving a very important point and I believe many other people would agree with him including me. This is what I think and what matters.

After reading the article, "A Customer Oriented Airport" by David Warlick, What matters is having all costumers comfortable and at home. This is important because without keeping the costumers happy they would never get any buisness. The Air port put in Cafe's, places to sleep and rest if a flight is delayed. So I think this Airport isn’t that bad. Saftey of the costumers is very important because if someone gets hurt they could sue. Without the people feeling safe and at home they wouldn't get any more service there. This is what I think matters.

In the Nata Village blog, What matters to the Nata Village is shelter, saftey, and having a plan for any natural disaster to occur. This matters to the people of Nata village most because this is a way for them to know they can be safe in a natural disaster because they will be prepared for it. This can help people make sure they are always confident and safe from natural disasters. But, if they do get their plans for disasters they will have the insurance of being ready. This is what I think matters to the people of Nata Village.

machines are using us Kalvinp.

In the video, Machines are Using Us, by Michael Wesch, its talked about how electronics are taking over our lives and controlling what we do. Not only in the present but the future and the past. The video shows us how electronics have advanced. It's getting hard to tell what is controlling what. Are we usig the machine or is it using us? Every time we use a computer we are teaching it more and more. In the video it shows us how many things we can do in one simple click of the mouse or a simple push of a button. It's amazing of what we did with technology and it's also scary at the same time.

Did you Know? Kalvinp

Did you Know

I thought “Did you know” by Karl Fisch was very interesting because it talked about facts
Of the world, for example he said that china will soon become the number one English speaking
Country In the world. He had facts and other facts to back them up and you can clearly tell
That he worked hard, took his time, and did his research. Fisch found out that there were over
2.7 billion Searches performed on Google each month! He also found out that if MySpace was a
country it would be the 11th largest country in the world between Japan and Mexico! All
Together his video is a good six minutes and seven seconds long filled with very interesting
facts. I thought “Did you Know” by Karl Fisch was very interesting.
